The Government Employees Medical Scheme
The Government Employees Medical Scheme (GEMS), is registered as a restricted membership scheme under the MSA, with membership eligibility determined by employment. The Scheme is governed by an independent Board of Trustees and provides services exclusively to eligible employee. The Scheme’s primary goal is to improve affordability and access to quality healthcare for public service employees, its overarching strategic objective is for GEMS to become the blueprint for the government’s National Health Insurance (NHI) policy.
