Sue Burton (Dip Pharm – Natal Technikon, MSc Pharmacology – Rhodes University, PhD – Nelson Mandela University). Sue has practiced in various sectors of pharmacy, including community, hospital and the managed care environment. However, the larger part of her career (24 years) has been in pharmaceutical education. She currently teaches Pharmacy Practice at Rhodes University, where she is an associate professor. Sue has served on the Executive Committee of the Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and on various SAPC task teams, including the panel of experts responsible for drafting the new Competency Standards for Pharmacists. Sue has co-authored a chapter in the recently published Encyclopaedia of Pharmacy Practice and Clinical Pharmacy entitled Corporatization of Community Pharmacy.
