Prof Martie S Lubbe obtained a Bachelor’s degree (Pharmacy) (Cum Laude) (1986), a MPharm degree in Pharmacy Practice (1989), a Diploma in Tertiary Education (1996) (Cum Laude) and a PhD in Pharmacy Practice (2000), all at the Potchefstroom University for CHE. The title of her PhD. thesis was “Managed pharmaceutical care: A South African approach”. She is currently the Director of the Research Niche area, Medicine Usage in South Africa, in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the North-West University, Potchefstroom campus. She has devoted 28 years of her career to pharmacy education and practice-related research and contributed significantly towards the development of Pharmacy Practice in South Africa. From 2004 to 2009 she acted as Subject head of Pharmacy Practice at the NWU. She is C2-rated researcher. She is author/co-author of 69 refereed/peer-reviewed articles, author of 1 book and 1 chapter in a book and more than 100 refereed/peer-reviewed conference proceedings at national and international conferences. She has successfully supervised/co-supervised 68 MPharm and 11 PhD studies.
