Ms. Nocawe Thipa is the CEO: Gauteng Medical Supplies Depot, a grade A Wholesale Pharmacy, and Chief Director: Gauteng Pharmaceutical Services & Clinical Support Services. She is a Ministerial appointee to the South African Pharmacy Council where she serves as a Treasurer, a Trustee in the Council’s Board of Trustees, a member of the Tender Committee, a member of the Remuneration Committee and a member of the Bargaining Committee

In the Province, Ms Thipa oversees the running of the Pharmaceutical Services policy and planning unit, thirty-five Provincial Institutional Pharmacies, five District Pharmacies and the Medical Supplies Depot. She chairs the Gauteng Provincial Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. She is also responsible for overseeing the services offered by the National Health Laboratory Services (NHLS) and the South African National Blood Services (SANBS) to the Gauteng Department of Health institutions and facilities. She chairs the Gauteng Provincial Laboratory and Blood User’s Committee. Ms. Thipa also serves as a member of the HoD’s Executive Management Core team.

Ms. Thipa has had the privilege of serving, at the pleasure of the Minister of Health, as a member of the South African National Essential Medicine List Committee representing the Eastern Cape Department of Health and later the Gauteng Department of Health.
