Born in Harare, Mike studied pharmacy at the University of Zimbabwe. He worked in hospital and community pharmacy and was chief executive of Zimbabwe’s largest group of pharmacies before moving to the USA in 2001. Mike has published extensively, mainly in the areas of continuing professional development (CPD) and quality of pharmacy education.

Mike established the International Forum for Quality Assurance of Pharmacy Education and authored FIP’s Global Framework for Quality Assurance of Pharmacy Education (2008, 2014). He is Lead for Quality Assurance for FIP’s Education Initiative and served as Co-Lead for Continuing Education/Continuing Professional Development

Mike served as President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Zimbabwe and the National Pharmaceutical Council. For over 30 years he has been active in FIP, serving on its Board of Directors, Board of Pharmaceutical Practice, Foundation for Education and Research, and Executive Committees of the Community and Academic Sections. He has travelled to 80 countries and been a speaker at numerous national and international conferences.
