Maryke Lundie

I obtained my BPharm from NWU and completed my Radiopharmacy Master’s (Cum Laude) at the University of Limpopo (Medunsa) – now the Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University. I am passionate about the development of Radiopharmacy in SA and am currently employed as MPharm Radiopharmacy course coordinator at SMU. The focus for my PhD research is focused on PET and the radiolabelling of blood elements, which is being done in collaboration with colleagues in the USA. I am a member of the South African Society of Nuclear Medicine and was part of the organising committee who hosted the 2018 congress. In 2017, I completed a training course on PET in Germany, sponsored by Philips, and another course in Morocco, sponsored by the International Atomic Energy Agency. I formed part of the team who designed the new PET/CT facility at DGMAH, as well as the upgraded SPECT radiopharmacy in the Nuclear Medicine Department.
