Jackie graduated from Rhodes University, with B.Pharm Distinction, in 1985 and completed her internship at Wynberg Pharmacy in Cape Town. She has been an active community pharmacist for the past 30 years. She has served on various committees at the Pharmaceutical Society of South Africa (PSSA) and was a founding director of the Independent Community Pharmacy Association (ICPA).

Currently Jackie is serving her second term as an elected member of the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) where she is the Chairperson of Practice Committee, she is the CEO of ICPA and the Chairman of the Cape Western Province branch of PSSA.

Jackie believes that community pharmacy is ideally positioned to positively contribute to the health and wellbeing of people within their local areas and will be a critical primary care provider under NHI.
