Fatima Suleman is a Professor and Director of the World Health Organization for Pharmaceutical Policy and Evidence Based Practice in the Discipline of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of KwaZulu-Natal. She is also a Professor at Utrecht University; a Fulbright Alumnus (Fulbright Scholar 2002-2004); and appointed by the Minister of Health to serve on as the Chair of the Pricing Committee (current). She has received numerous grants from the NRF, the University of KwaZulu-Natal, the MRC and the National Institute of Health. She has been appointed to the World Health Organization’s Expert Advisory Panel on Drug Evaluation (2017 – 2021); as a council Member for the African Forum on Research and Education in Health (AFREhealth) PI Council from 2016 to date; and as an expert member of the Guideline Development Group for updating WHO Guideline on Country Pharmaceutical Pricing Policies for 2019-2020. She was awarded SAAHE Educator of the Year 2018.
